Voice assistant settings in the XPENG P7+
by P7+ News • Oct 21, 2026
The “Hey XPENG” voice assistant in the XPENG P7+ has several settings worth configuring after delivery. Below we cover all the options in the voice assistant settings section.
Intelligent Voice Service
A new conversational-AI service that goes beyond a fixed set of commands. When enabled, you can ask the assistant things that need internet access — e.g. “where is the nearest coffee shop?” or “what’s the best restaurant in my town?” — and it returns a list of suggestions with Google ratings. This addition arrived with the XOS 5.9.5 update and is evolving toward a full AI assistant.
”Hey XPENG” wake word
This toggle decides whether the assistant is activated by the “Hey XPENG” voice command. If you turn it off, you can only start the assistant with the button at the bottom of the screen.
Wake Word Enhancement
A beta feature. Repeating the wake word several times improves recognition accuracy. Recommended: enable it and record your own wake word. Up to eight users can each record their own “Hey XPENG”. Recording tips: park in a quiet place, close the doors, windows and trunk, and disable multimedia audio. The owner or an authorized user should sit in the driver’s seat.
Assistant language
Language selection: English, Cantonese, German, French and Thai are available, among others. The list is expected to expand.
Dialogue modes
- Single-turn: executes only one task.
- Multi-turn: after completing a task, the assistant keeps listening for further commands. Useful e.g. in the morning — you turn on seat heating, then massage, without repeating “Hey XPENG”.
Active Zones
Select the zones where the assistant should listen. You can disable rear-left, rear-right and front-passenger — e.g. so kids in the back can’t trigger the assistant while driving. The driver zone cannot be turned off. There are microphones in each corner, so the assistant knows where you are — you can say “Hey XPENG, open my window” without stating your position.
Display Voice Recognition Content
When enabled, recognized commands are shown as text. This way you see what the assistant understood — and can easily spot when it mishears you.
